Geography
The Bangladesh country is part of the ancient land of Bengal and it is located in a northeast region of the Indian subcontinent. On the northern coast of the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh is located and its border meets with India and Myanmar. There are two main rivers, the Ganges and Brahmaputra.
It is the greenest country in South Asia and its total area is approximately 143,998 km² which is smaller than the Iowa State of USA. It is also considered the globe’s most populated region. According to the census of 2017, the total population of Bangladesh is 164 million. There are 88% Muslims lived here.
The capital city is Dhaka and their official language is Bengali or Bangla.
Climate
The climate of Bangladesh is subtropical monsoon and it is categorized by widespread periodic variations in precipitation, extreme temperatures, and moistness. There are 3 different seasons in this region,
• From March to June, a Hot and Tropical Summer
• From June to October, a Cool and Pouring Monsoon Season
• From October to March, a Cool and Dry Winter
The temperature lies between 30°C and 40°C in the summer season. The warmest and coolest month all over the country in April and January respectively. The average temperature in the month of January is around 10°C.
The 1600mm annual rainfall occurs in the western region of Raj Shahi and other parts of country face 2000mm rainfall every year. The northeastern part of Bangladesh receives maximum rainfall around 4000mm due to of Himalayas mountains’ location. Almost 80% region of this country receives the Monsoon rain.
